Video nasty, Street Trash, is getting a 4K UHD Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray. The movie started a genre of ‘melting movies’ from the 80s.
Remember the days of the video rental store? You would stand there, looking at the covers and trying to pick out the most badass movie you could find. It was the covers that got you, and in the UK, the 18 certificate.
Street Trash was one of the ones you would have probably picked up and read some of the back, while looking for more awesome pics. You might have asked, ‘How many killings?’
The rest is from a press release. Street Trash is directed by J. Michael Muro and stars Mike Lackey, Vic Noto and Bill Chepil. The film was made for an estimated $100k.
The Collector’s Edition Blu-ray, housed inside a VHS box, is available to pre-order now, limited to 2,000 copies. It features over 5 hours of brand-new extras, newly recorded audio commentaries and exclusive artwork and inserts designed by illustrator Graham Humphreys.
To celebrate the release, Street Trash will return to select UK & Irish screens for one-off shows in May – including the Prince Charles Cinema in London, CultPlex in Manchester and Broadway in Nottingham.
Two young runaways live in a derelict junkyard in Brooklyn. Life is hard, but the biggest threat to these vagabonds is the mysterious case of Tenafly Viper in Ed’s liquor store. This stuff is over forty years old… and it’s gone bad. REAL bad!
Ahh, the good ol’ days.
Street Trash, the 4K Blu-Ray is available now and will be in select cinemas in the UK on the 27th April.
