Warner Bros. Pictures has released a featurette for the new “Supergirl” movie, two days after the full trailer launch and ahead of the film’s release in June.

Australian actress Milly Alcock (“House of the Dragon”) takes on the role of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in the film which is based on the “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” limited series comic by Tom King.

In the film, Supergirl (Alcock) travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.

Also starring are Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa as Lobo, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze and Alice Hewkin as a Sklarian Raider.

Alcock recently explained why she didn’t seek advice from peers who previously portrayed the character like Melissa Benoist or Sasha Calle. She tells Vanity Fair: “They’re just people living their lives. It’s not like we have this blood bond.”

Ana Nogueira penned the script while Craig Gillespie directs. The film is slated to release on June 26th in the US and internationally from June 24th.
