A day after the poster reveal confirming that the character Fox McCloud would appear in “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” the voice actor taking on the role has been revealed.
None other than “The Running Man” and “Chad Powers” actor Glen Powell will voice the protagonist of the “Star Fox” games, the leader of the Star Fox team who flies various missions in his Arwing.
It’s not clear the extent of the character’s appearance, though the fact that he has essentially remained under wraps until this time suggests it’s likely only a small role as compared to some of the other new roles that have appeared throughout the film’s trailers and marketing.
Chris Pratt (Mario), Charlie Day (Luigi), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek) are all confirmed to be returning for the new film, which will be the centerpiece of the Mario character’s 40th anniversary.
They’re joined by Donald Glover as Yoshi, Brie Larson as Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. in the film. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are back as directors and Brian Tyler is handling the score, which will blend musical themes from the games.
“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” opens in cinemas on April 1st.
