Family Guy, and everything attached to it, shows no signs of stopping. Not bad for a show that’s been cancelled more times than a straight white man working in HR. There is more to come, as Fox has ordered two seasons of Stewie.
The spin-off from the Seth MacFarlane show will follow Stewie Griffin, the toddler of the Griffin family, in preschool as he explores time and space. It has been tagged as a “foul-mouthed Doctor Who” by some online commentators, which is kind of ironic, as the latest seasons of Doctor Who made fans very foul-mouthed indeed. Still, it sounds like it could work.
MacFarlane and 20th Television Animation will create the show, and it is being aimed at the 2027-28 season with episodes appearing after Fox on Hulu and globally on Disney+. Family Guy and American Dad were renewed last year already.
MacFarlane will return to voice Stewie. The show is said to run separately in its own timeline, so it won’t impact Stewie on Family Guy, according to Deadline.
