Netflix has revealed “Thrash” as the title for the new Phoebe Dynevor-led shark thriller, which will officially release on the service on April 10th.
Tommy Wirkola (“Violent Night,” “Dead Snow”) directs the project which the streamer has unveiled the first photos from today.
The film was originally titled “Beneath the Storm” and planned for an August 2025 release before being retitled “Shiver” and pushed to July this year. Then Sony pulled the title from its schedule in January, days after they and Netflix officially announced the continuation of their $7 billion global pay-1 deal.
Set amidst a catastrophic hurricane, a coastal town battles nature’s wrath and an onslaught of sharks. Braving torrential rain, debris, and darkness, they unite to survive the deadly predators and make it through the storm.
Dynevor stars in the film a pregnant woman alongside Djimon Hounsou as a marine researcher and Whitney Peak as his agoraphobic niece. Alyla Browne, Stacy Clausen, and Dante Ubaldi also star as foster siblings.
Costa D’Angelo, Amy Mathews, Elijah Ungvary, Jon Prasida, Gemma Dart, Akosia Sabet, Sian Luxford, and Sami Afuni round out the cast.
