After a few weeks away from it, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn is back on Threads and has shot down a bunch of recent rumors regarding upcoming films on the slate.
First up, a trade report recently listed Gunn’s next film as “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” as opposed to just “Man of Tomorrow” which led to plenty of speculation about a title change.
Gunn has rejected that notion, saying the trade simply made a mistake and “I try to avoid the colons” in his movie titles. He also reminds fans that the project is “not just a Superman movie”.
As for where it stands now, several months out from production, he says: “I’ve already storyboarded almost the entire film. All the real work is now, before starting production. The more I do now, the less I have to do shooting and in post!”
Next, he denied another report that claimed he was not only waiting for a third Matt Reeves-directed “The Batman” to be done before moving forward with “The Brave and the Bold,” but that he was also fast-tracking to get that third film into production.
Gunn says, “I’m not fast-tracking anything other than our scripts, currently getting ready to go into production.” He also dubbed the reports that he doesn’t want two Batmen on screen at the same time as “incorrect”.
Finally, the rumors of the Themyscira-set “Paradise Lost” being shelved are also not true, Gunn saying: “Definitely not. Jesus, I go on Threads for the first time in weeks and it’s just one insanely wrong thing after the other. What is going on?”
