Filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s new film “Project Hail Mary” opens next month on almost every format available, and today the pair have done a premium theatre tour video, guiding you through every format you can see it in.

The film is coming out in twelve different formats – Standard, Premium Large Format, 5 Perf 70mm, D-Box, 4DX, MX4D, HDR by Barco, Screen X, Dolby Cinema, Standard IMAX, Digital IMAX, and IMAX 70mm Film.

As previously indicated, the film will jump between two different aspect ratios – 2.39:1 for the Earth-based scenes and the full IMAX 1.43:1 aspect ratio for the space scenes – the latter going to 1.85:1 ratio on some screens. The pair indicate that either 70mm IMAX or Digital IMAX in 1.43:1 is the best way to see the film as it was made for the format.

In “Project Hail Mary,” Ryan Gosling stars as astronaut Ryland Grace who awakens on a spacecraft with no memory of himself or his mission.

He slowly deduces he is the sole survivor of a crew sent to the Tau Ceti solar system in search of a solution to a catastrophic event on Earth.

In his search for answers, Grace must rely on his vast array of scientific knowledge, sheer ingenuity, and human will – but he may not have to search alone.

“Project Hail Mary” is set to open in cinemas on March 20th 2026.
