It’s a bit of a pre-Thanksgiving holiday blood bath for TV series today with multiple shows getting the chop.
Following on from this morning’s “The Muppets Mayhem” chop, TBS is done with its Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi and Geraldine Viswanathan-led anthology comedy “Miracle Workers”.
The network’s last remaining live-action comedy has gotten the axe, the decision coming down three months after the Mad Max-esque fourth and now final season went to air. “American Dad” now stands as TBS’ last scripted original.
Meanwhile, Amazon has axed a trio of scripted Prime Video series – “The Horror of Dolores Roach,” “Harlan Coben’s Shelter” and “With Love”. The first two are ending after a single season each, whilst “With Love” is being killed off with two seasons under its belt.
It follows on from Amazon’s more high-profile shows “The Peripheral” and “A League of Their Own” both scoring renewals only to see those decisions reversed and both shows axed
All this also follows on from broadcasters and streamers cancelling a bunch of shows out of the strikes as Hollywood continues trying to cut costs with “Superman and Lois,” “Shadow and Bone,” “SEAL Team,” “Rabbit Hole,” “La Brea,” “Joe Pickett,” “The Rookie: Feds” and more all being cancelled.
