With the WGA and SAG strikes officially over, Tim Burton has been able to finally wrap filming on his highly anticipated “Beetlejuice” sequel.
Burton was reportedly less than two days away from completing filming on the project when the production was halted by the actor’s strike.
Several blocks in the town of Melrose, Massachusetts where the project was filming earlier this year were taken over again this week by “crews, cables, and production trucks” according to WBZ.
Houses were “decked out in Halloween decor” with filming “expected through at least Friday”. Behind-the-scenes video of the filming has gone online at Universal Horror both here and here.
The past 24 hours have seen numerous photos and videos popping up online taken by residents and people on set showing Burton, star Jenna Ortega, and someone dressed in Beetlejuice’s full make-up and signature striped suit.
Many of those posts indicate that filming that was happening on the ground there has now finished, and by extension it’s believed filming on the overall project has wrapped.
Michael Keaton is back as the eponymous Bio-Exorcist alongside Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz and Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz. They’re joined by Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, and Monica Bellucci.
At last report “Beetlejuice 2” is scheduled to debut in theaters on September 6th 2024.
