By The teaser trailer is out for “Mary & George,” the seven-part dark historical psychodrama limited series starring Julianne Moore and “Red, White & Royal Blue” breakout Nicholas Galitzine.
Moore plays the ruthless Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham alongside Galitzine as her handsome son George.
Together the pair schemed, seduced and killed to conquer the Court of England as George is enlisted by Mary to seduce King James I (Tony Curran).
The Villiers ultimately became two of the English court’s richest and most influential members.
Also starring are Nicola Walker, Niamh Algar, Trine Dyrholm, Sean Gilder, Adrian Rawlins, Mark O’Halloran, Laurie Davidson, Samuel Blenkin, Jacob McCarthy, Tom Victor, Alice Grant, Amelia Gething, Mirren Mack, Rina Mahoney, and Simon Russell Beale.
The series is created and executive produced by D.C. Moore (“Killing Eve”) based on Benjamin Woolley’s 2017 non-fiction book “The King’s Assassin”.
“Mary & George” premieres in 2024 on Starz in the U.S. and Canada, with Sky Atlantic airing the series in Europe.
