Though a third “Frozen” has yet to be released, Disney CEO Bob Iger suggests a fourth film in the series is in development.
Disney has had a rather rough 2023 which hit home again last week with the launch of “The Marvels” delivering the lowest start to date for a film in the MCU.
Appearing on “Good Morning America” this morning, Iger was on hand to promote Disney’s theme park in Hong Kong where he is helping out with the opening ceremony for ‘World Of Frozen’ in which park guests can meet characters from the films and walk streets that resemble the series’ Arendelle town.
During that appearance is when he called “Frozen” as being “one of our most valuable franchises” and then said the following statement:
“Frozen 3 is in the works, and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works too. But I don’t have much to say about those films right now.
[Director] Jenn Lee, who created the original Frozen and Frozen 2, is hard at work with her team at Disney animation on not one but actually two stories.”
Disney’s 2019 “Frozen II” still holds the crown as the most successful animated film of all time with $1.453 billion at the global box office, whilst the first film in 2013 made a comparable $1.285 billion worldwide.
Iger officially announced the third film was coming back in February along with new “Toy Story” and “Zootopia” movies.
