Lenny Kravitz himself has announced that he is set to play a Bond villain.

The famed musician will portray Bawma, one of several antagonists, coming to IO Interactive’s upcoming “007: First Light” game launching on March 27th.

Kravitz calls this his “first voyage into the world of video games” and dubs the character a “wild, unpredictable pirate ruler of Africa’s biggest black market hub”.

He adds, “Where others see chaos, Bawma sees freedom. He rose from nothing, broke free, and built his own kingdom of Aleph — and his story’s just beginning. He’s magnetic and unpredictable; there’s danger in him, but also heart and purpose. He’s not just a man with power; he is a man who has to fight for every inch of it.”

The game features “Dexter: Origin Sin” star Patrick Gibson as a 26-year-old James Bond in this third-person story-driven action-adventure game which reimagines Bond’s origins. Here he’s a promising but rebellious Royal Navy air crewman who finds himself recruited by MI6.

Also starring are Lennie James as Bond’s mentor John Greenway, Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Miss Moneypenny, Noemie Nakai as mysterious femme fatale Miss Roth, and Gemma Chan as MI6 agent Selina Tan.

“007: First Light” will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
