Prime Video has premiered the trailer for “Role Play,” a comedy thriller film that basically seems like a spin on the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” premise – albeit only one with a hidden past.
Emma has a wonderful husband and two kids in the suburbs of New Jersey – she also has a secret life as a world-renowned assassin for hire which she has been hiding the entire time.
It’s a secret that her husband David discovers when the couple decide to spice up their marriage with a little role play at a local hotel. Their innocent night of fun becomes a deadly adventure where he attempts to help his wife as she does one last job.
Kaley Cuoco and David Oyelowo star as the couple whilst Connie Nielsen and Bill Nighy have major supporting roles. Nighy replaced the originally cast Billy Bob Thornton who had to exit over a scheduling conflict.
Thomas Vincent (“Reacher,” “Bodyguard”) helms the film from a script by Seth Owen based on an idea by George Heller. Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona. produce.
“Role Play” was shot last Summer in Germany and premieres on Prime Video around the world on January 12th.
