Yay, it’s another list that no one asked for. The main problem with any kind of Top 100 lists is that it will always divide people, as everyone has a different point of view. This is very true when it comes to comedy.
I’ll break the list down a bit and point out some things I found wrong. I had to copy, paste, and then edit this list, so forgive the formatting!

The Waterboy (1998)
Shaun of the Dead at 75! That tells you everything you need to know about this Top 100 list. Both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz have to be in the Top 20, at least. Also, why is Shaun on the list, but not Hot Fuzz?
The same with Blazing Saddles, but then, you can’t like that too much, as you’re a racist if you do.
There are a few on there I wouldn’t class as all that funny at all, I love Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, but it’s not a good comedy — the same with Pretty Woman. Eddie Murphy Raw is just a stand-up show, not really a movie.

Top 10 Comedies of All Time

Groundhog Day (1993)
9
Young Frankenstein (1974)
8
Fargo (1996)
7
Duck Soup (1933)
6
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)

The Great Dictator (1940)
3
Annie Hall (1977)

Some Like It Hot (1959)
1
The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988)
I’m fine with Naked Gun being number one in the Top 100 List, but some of the others? There’s no Schindler’s List, there’s no A Serbian Film, and where was Threads?
Spinal Tap should be in the top 10. Why is Holy Grail in, but Life of Brian not?
Also, I’m just going to say this, but I never found Some Like It Hot all that funny. Sure, it’s a movie to put on in the background, and it is mildly amusing, but it’s never been on my top list.
Also, notice how there is barely anything from the last 10 years, which tells you a lot. Do you agree with Variety’s Top 100 List of Best Comedies?
