In a sea of dreck, there are occasional tropical islands of goodness. One of these islands was Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of Fallout.
Based on the best-selling video games, Fallout is set 200 years after the nuclear apocalypse, as the survivors venture out from their bunkers to explore the world above them. A world that has changed beyond all recognition.
The world was weird and violent.
The first season starred Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Walton Goggins. It was positively reviewed, with great visuals and production design. Importantly, it was also faithful to the source material.
It was also nominated for 17 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Goggins.
The second season will be based around one of the most popular entries in the video game franchise – Fallout: New Vegas.
The first season pulled in 65 million views worldwide over its first 16 days of release and has since passed the 100 million view mark, which puts it in the top three of all Prime Video series to date.
Fallout returns to streaming from December 17th.
