From Ice Cube’s quizzical squint, to Jon Voight chewing scenery, the Jennifer Lopez led 1997 creature feature Anaconda is famous as a slice of insane, cheesy brilliance.
Now it is getting a remake, with a twist!
Sony Pictures will be unleashing Anaconda in cinemas on Christmas Day this year.
In this new version, Jack Black and Paul Rudd play Doug and Griff, two lifelong friends who have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie – the “cinematic classic” that is Anaconda.
But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed.
Now some first images have been released.
Anaconda also stars Selton Mello as Santiago Braga, Daniela Melchior as Ana Almeida, Thandiwe Newton as Claire Simons, Steve Zahn as Kenny Trent, and Ione Skye as Malie McCallister.
Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) directs Anaconda from a screenplay he co-wrote with Kevin Etten
Brad Fuller and Andrew Form produce.
