Of all the movies left to come out this year, I think this might be the one that has me the most intrigued. A House Of Dynamite is the newest thriller from Kathryn Bigelow, who gets a lifetime pass from me for Point Break anyway, before we even get to Strange Days, The Hurt Locker, and Zero Dark Thirty.
It follows the events when a single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States, and a race begins to determine who is responsible, what the payload is, and how to respond. The action is said to take place in real time and centres on the reactions inside the White House.
An ensemble cast includes Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Kaitlyn Dever, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, Jason Clarke, Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Kyle Allen.
It was written by Noah Oppenheim (Jackie, The Maze Runner) penned the project.
Early reviews declare it as “riveting” and “more terrifying than any horror movie”.
A House Of Dynamite premiered in Venice to a rapturous reception and a 13-minute standing ovation, with reviews out of the festival hitting Rotten Tomatoes at 90%.
The movie will have a limited theatrical run on October 10th, then arrive on Netflix on October 24th.
