The weekend is here again, and it’s time to chill out, kick back and all other manner of other 80s hip sayings. I’m hoping you have the chance to watch some movies, I mean, that’s why we’re here, right? It can’t be for the intellectual stimulus.
Trying to find something to watch these days is like trying to remember if it’s underwear first, then trousers. I have a note on my wall to remind me.
Don’t fear, dear Outposters, we have some suggestions for what to watch this weekend.
Talk to Me – Movie – Horror, and a rather good one.
Mobland – Movie – Simply described by Stark as ‘F***ing hell*.
28 Years Later – Movie – Good movie, weird ending.
War of the Worlds – Movie – The new one, and one of the worst movies ever made.
A Matter of Life and Death – Movie – Classic with Daivd Niven.
Wing Commander – Movie – After seeing Prince Jr and Lillard, I needed to catch up with this. It wasn’t terrible.
The Amateur – Movie – The new one, with Rami Malek, it’s mid.
She’s All That – Movie – Watched it mainly for Rachel Leigh Cook.
Commando – Movie – Peak Arnie, ‘nuff said!
The Monster Project – Movie – Found footage and not a bad one.
Drop Dead Gorgeous – Movie – Mockuentary about a beauty pageant and very funny.
Back to the Future II – Movie – Good, but not the first one.
Signs – Movie – From back when M Night Shyamalan was good.
The Black Scorpion – Movie – Joan Severance in black leather, ‘nuff said!
That should keep you busy for the weekend.
Rebel Ridge
One movie that I have to mention I saw this week was Rebel Ridge. From the director of Blue Ruin and Green Room, Rebel Ridge slipped under my radar. What a movie!
It’s like First Blood, but the corruption of the cops goes deeper. This isn’t so much an action movie, like the story of John Rambo. It’s more of a thriller, with some great action. If you want something decent for the weekend, you can’t go wrong with this.
Anyway, what are you planning to watch this weekend?
