The first photo has been released from “Masters of the Universe,” the upcoming live-action “He-Man” movie which is officially in production.

The shot features a close-up of He-Man with his signature sword, the picture posted to the social media account of the film’s star Nicholas Galitzine. In his posting, Galitzine says:

“After several months of intense training, I’m thrilled to share that we’re officially in production on #MastersOfTheUniverse. Our director Travis Knight has assembled the most incredible ensemble cast and created a stunning tapestry of Eternia and its surrounding world. I can’t wait for you to see. More to come, but until then, here’s a sneak peek at the Sword of Power. By the power of Grayskull!”

The film’s cast includes Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, and Jared Leto as Skeletor.

Also onboard are James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie and Christian Vunipola as Hussein.

Travis Knight directs the film from a script by Chris Butler, David Callaham, Aaron Nee and Adam Nee. The film is expected to be partially set on Earth before Prince Adam returns to Eternia.

Amazon MGM Studios, Escape Artists and Mattel Films will release the film in 2026.

Eternia is in good hands.
