Warner Bros. Pictures has premiered the new trailer for “Companion,” a romantic thriller starring Sophie Thatcher (“Heretic”) and Jack Quaid (“The Boys”).
Written and directed by Drew Hancock (“My Dead Ex,” “Suburgatory”), Thatcher plays an android named Iris who was made to be the girlfriend of Josh (Quaid). Iris recalls one of her happiest days during a weekend trip to a remote lakeside estate – when she kills Josh.
Iris was designed to be the perfect, subservient partner. But, since Josh jail-broke the settings of his bot, things turn bloody and violent during the weekend getaway with his friends.
Also starring are Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén and Rupert Friend. The producing team behind “Barbarian” – Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Zach Cregger and Roy Lee – are all here.
Speaking about the film, Quaid previously told EW: “It was one of the best scripts I’ve ever read… I never saw any of the twists coming, but it’s not necessarily a movie that relies on a big reveal, and every reveal was fresh.”
“Companion” will be released in United States theaters and IMAX on January 31st.
