Wild Horse
Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken are attached to star in “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “In Bruges” director Martin McDonagh’s next film “Wild Horse” which has been setup at Searchlight and films next year in the UK.
Oscar Isaac’s name was previously rumored but he has yet to to be confirmed. No plot details have been revealed at this time other than the film is set on an island. Rockwell and Walken have previously worked with McDonagh before. [Source: RTHK]
Smile 3
A Production Weekly listing indicates that a third “Smile” film will enter production in 2025. Filmmaker Parker Finn will return as writer-director for this third instalment, but no plot details or a cast have been revealed. The news follows the second film’s release this Fall. [Source: WOR]
DNA
Sam Rockwell is also joining Ben Schwartz in the comedy feature “DNA” which will be directed by The Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone at Searchlight. Schwartz wrote the screenplay for the movie, while Taccone, Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Ali Bell will produce. Plot specifics for that one are under wraps. [Source: Deadline]
Surface
Apple TV+ has set a February 21st date for the eight-episode second season premiere of psychological thriller series “Surface”. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Millie Brady return while Phil Dunster, Gavin Drea, Rupert Graves, Tara Fitzgerald, Nina Sosanya, with Joely Richardson and Freida Pinto join the cast.
Mbatha-Raw’s Sophie heads to London to unravel the secrets of her past. Using vast stolen resources to embed herself in elite British society, she soon realises she and a journalist had set out to expose a shocking scandal about the dangerous people she’s now become close to. [Source: Deadline]
