We had a story, back in Oct last year, that Guillermo del Toro was remaking Frankenstein. It seems that the principal filming is coming to a close. Now, some images from the movie are appearing online.

I don’t know about that look. OK, so it’s a behind-the-scenes view, but it looks very ‘computer gamey’. We’ll have to wait for a trailer before passing full judgment.

The cast of this new Frankenstein is looking good, Mia Goth, Christopher Waltz, Oscar Issac, Charles Dance, Burn Gorman, Ralph Ineson, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen and Jacob Elordi is playing the Monster.

It seems that the story is not so much a reboot, as a sequel. The story is:

Dr. Pretorius tracks down Frankenstein’s monster, who is believed to have died in a fire forty years before, in order to continue the experiments of Dr. Victor Frankenstein.

There have been tweets about Issac being in costume.

It seems that Goth’s character needs a digital body double. Goth has had several plaster casts of her body done for different movies. This was the first time she had to have it done digitally. And to think, all those Jocks in high school laughed at the techy kids. Well, who’s seeing Goth in the nude now? Well, everyone actually. She drops her clothes quicker than Kathleen Kennedy drops a good Star Wars script.

According to reports, it is a passion project for Del Toro, who has wanted to make the movie for many years. He originally mentioned that Mary Shelly’s novel was one of his favourites back in 2007. Back then he said he would love to make a Frankenstein movie.

There is no news on when Frankenstein will ‘come to life’, but we’ll keep you posted.
