Disney and Pixar have premiered the teaser trailer and a new poster for their cosmic misadventure feature “Elio” which hits cinemas next Summer.
Elio is a kid with goals: “I’m trying to get abducted by aliens!”. A space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge alien obsession, Elio’s in for an epic undertaking when he’s beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide.
When Elio is mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be.
The voice cast for the film includes features Yonas Kibreab as Elio, Zoe Saldaña as Olga, Elio’s aunt, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, Brad Garrett as Ambassador Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa and Shirley Henderson as OOOOO.
The film is directed by Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi, and Adrian Molina. Mary Alice Drumm produces the film which was originally slated for March 2024 but saw delays due to last year’s actors and writers strikes.
“Elio” is now set to release in theaters on June 13th 2025.
