By Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong have been announced as the new major cast members of the third season of HBO’s “The White Lotus”.
Specifics of the characters they will play are under wraps. The group will join returning first season cast member Natasha Rothwell in the new run, whilst Carrie Coon was rumored for a role in the past day.
The new season will be shot around Thailand. Filming will take place in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok as part of a partnership between HBO and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
The third season is tipped to explore the concept of spirituality versus the ego in Eastern religion and spirituality as it follows people attending a Wellness Spa.
It follows on from the Hawaii and Italy locations of the first two seasons along with their respective themes of money and sex. The second season averaged 10.1 million viewers per episode in total, a 50% jump from the first season. It is also up for 23 Emmy nominations with those awards taking place soon.
Creator Mike White has previously teased the new season will run longer than prior ones. The new season will shoot this year for an early 2025 airing.
