A film adaptation of tinyBuild’s popular survival stealth “Hello Neighbor” video game franchise is in the works at BoulderLight Pictures (“Woman of the Hour,” “Barbarian”).

“Five Nights at Freddy’s ” film scribe Tyler MacIntyre has penned the script while Alex Nichiporchik and Jonathan “Carnage” Joyce will produce.

The project was a surprise reveal just a few hours ago at the end of the most recent episoe of the animated web series “Secret Neighbor” which is also based on the franchise.

The 2D animation switched to a live-action 3D scene on a playground where the cover page for the script of the film was scene, the cover page dated the script being completed just one week ago.

No further information about the film is available. The games follow a boy who has moved in next door to a mysterious neighbor named Theodore Peterson who is behaving abnormally and has a dark secret in his basement.

The aim of the game is to successfully sneak into the basement of the Theodore’s house while avoiding being caught by him. The game’s AI modifies the neighbor’s behavior based on the player’s past actions.

Early builds were praised, but the final game was widely panned for its clunky controls, gameplay and tech elements – even as the art style and story were praised.
