While “Venom: The Last Dance” is the final part of a trilogy, and the final film for Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock, it’s not necessarily the end for the symbiote itself.

Scooper DanielRPK (via CBM) reports that Sony Pictures has begun development of an “Agent Venom” movie.

In the comics, the character is actually “Spider-Man” supporting character Eugene “Flash” Thompson who loses his legs in service to his country. He gets them back after bonding with the Venom Symbiote.

Tony Revolori plays Eugene in the “Spider-Man” films, but the recent ‘Last Dance’ teases elements that could serve as setup for a potential Agent Venom film.

SPOILER FOR “VENOM: THE LAST DANCE”

In one scene, one of Strickland’s soldiers with the last name Thompson is seen getting his legs eaten by one of the Xenophages. Additionally, a post-credits scene sees has a cockroach next to a vial which housed symbiote substance.

END SPOILER

How accurate the report might be is unclear. It does offer a semi-reboot of the franchise for Sony to potentially continue but the future of the SSU isn’t clear yet.

“Venom: The Last Dance” passed the $300 million global box-office mark this past weekend and currently sits at a $317 million haul from a $120 million budget.
