Warner Bros. Discovery has released a new bunch of stills from its upcoming “IT” prequel series “IT: Welcome to Derry”.
Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso star while Bill Skarsgård will be reprising his role as Pennywise from the first two films.
The photos showcase some of the residents of the town of Derry in the story which unfolds in the early 1960s in the period when Pennywise goes into hibernation and re-emerges in the 1980s when the creature encounters the Losers Club.
Andy Muschietti, who directed the films, developed the nine-episode series with producers Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs. He’s directing four episodes of the run and tells EW that the Black Spot event from the book is a key catalyst here.
Both Muschiettis, Skarsgård, Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin executive produce with Fuchs and Kane serving as co-showrunners.
“IT: Welcome to Derry” is expected to premiere sometime in 2025 on HBO.
