The Rebecca Ferguson-led Apple TV+ sci-fi series “Silo” is an adaptation of Hugh Howey’s trilogy of novels “Wool, “Shift” and “Dust”.

However, the first season only adapts some of the first (and largest) book overall, so there’s plenty of material left to mine.

In a new interview with GamesRadar ahead of the show’s second season, creator Graham Yost says the series already has an ending in mind and the plan is to stick to the source material and then go no further.

He says they don’t intend to “drag it on too long”, but they can’t necessarily contain it to three seasons either:

“The books are a trilogy. This is not Outlander. This is not a long science fiction series. It’s a trilogy. We’re not going to extend it beyond that.

That doesn’t mean it’s going to be three seasons, but it’s not going to be. It is our goal to answer questions and not frustrate the audience, but deliver things in a logical time so that when our characters find something out, that’s when the audience finds out.”

Thus the number of seasons is still up for debate, but likely won’t go beyond four assuming it gets renewed for more.

Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie and Iain Glen star while Steve Zahn is joining for the second season.

“Silo” Season 2 premieres on the Apple TV+ service on November 15th 2024.
