The cast and crew of “Venom: The Last Dance” is at New York Comic Con tonight to promote the release of the film next Friday.
As has been clearly stated before, this will be Tom Hardy’s final “Venom” film, and once again at the event he re-iterated he’s saying goodbye to the character:
“Its been 7 years doing this, it’s like I started the day 7 years ago & now it’s night time, it’s time to go to sleep… I’ve absolutely loved playing Eddie and Venom.
We were specifically set up to bring Venom to a movie format, and that’s what we’ve done. ‘The Last Dance’ is the final piece in that trilogy and we’re really excited about that.”
Joking about being unemployed now, the actor was also asked about potentially returning to take on Spider-Man to which he says not only is he keen to do so, he’ll do it right away if offered the chance:
“I would love to fight Spider-Man. I would love to fight him now. I’m happy to fight Spider-Man today, 100 percent. I would never say never.”
Director/co-writer Kelly Marcel says while the plot for Eddie and Venom closes here, there are “lots of symbiote stories in the canon. There are lots of places to go, and maybe there are a few Easter eggs in here that might start that journey off.”
Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham co-star in the film which opens next Friday.
