Two recent films are set to get re-releases. Oz Perkins’ Nic Cage and Maika Monroe-led serial killer thriller “Longlegs” will open in cinemas again on October 23rd to celebrate Halloween.
Meanwhile “Godzilla Minus One” will be back in cinemas on November 1st with 13 minutes of exclusive bonus content to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the franchise. [Source: Fangoria]
Chris Nolan
Another update on filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s potential next project has come via Variety who’ve straight out nixed the possibility of a remake of “The Prisoner” being that film.
Their sources say the next film is not sci-fi either, but rather an espionage thriller. Nolan has flirted with the genre before with both “Inception” or “Tenet” but those both had major sci-fi leanings – this apparently does not. [Source: Variety]
Liam Payne
Former One Direction singer turned solo star Liam Payne has died at age 31 after falling from a balcony on the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina according to state police. Payne had reportedly been acting erratic in the hotel lobby earlier that afternoon.
Payne, considered one of their main songwriters of the band, has spoken in the past about his struggles with alcohol and prescription drug addictions along with mental health battles. He leaves behind his 7-year-old son Bear. [Source: SMH]
Untitled Christy Martin Biopic
“Euphoria” and “Anyone But You” actress Sydney Sweeney has shared the first photos of her with a mullet and playing boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic about the athlete. Tony Cavalero, Ben Foster, Merritt Weaver, Ethan Embry, Jess Gabor, Katy O’Brian, and Chad L. Colman co-star.
Famed Australian filmmaker David Michôd helms the project from a script co-written with Mirrah Foulkes. Martin rose to fame as America’s most successful female boxer in the 1990s and the only female boxer to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. [Source: Instagram]
