Former “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” star Elizabeth Henstridge, who is also known as a TV director these days, is set to play a pivotal role in the final season of The CW’s “Superman & Lois”.

Henstridge has reportedly been tapped to play Lex Luthor’s daughter in the new run, a character whose name has yet to be revealed.

The new season will see Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) fixated on reuniting with his daughter, who left in her teens when Lex was convicted of murder and sentenced to prison.

Speaking about her casting, executive producer Brent Fletcher tells ComicBook.com:

“I worked with her on Agents of SHIELD, and she’s unbelievable. She’s an unbelievable actress and just the greatest person to work with. She is so nice and awesome at what she does. Our crew loves her, she loves our crew…we built it for her. She was the only person we ever went to with it. We tried to give everybody a swan song this year. Like, ‘What if you did that?’ And she said yes.”

It is not yet clear how many episodes Henstridge will appear in, or how big a role she will play in the season beyond the disappearance/search storyline for Lex.

Henstridge directed an episode of the show in both seasons two and three, will return to helm the fifth episode of the ten-episode final run with the season premiere launching on October 7th.
