We have the MCU and the DCU, get ready for the CCU.
“The Chosen” series creator Dallas Jenkins has revealed that several television projects are in the works that are set to make the popular faith-based series “The Chosen” just one part of an entire cinematic universe.
Appearing at the ChosenCon fan convention in Orlando on Friday, Jenkins announced multiple new projects set within the same world as that series – including animated and unscripted series spinoffs and a three-season series following the lives of Moses and Joseph.
“The Chosen Adventures” will be a fourteen-episode animated series that follows inquisitive 9-year-old Abby in the Galilean city of Capernaum, circa 30 CE. She has a bunch of questions, and when she and best friend Joshua meet Jesus, will all that change?
Paul Walter Hauser, Yvonne Orji and Jordin Sparks lend their voices to the project whilst numerous stars of “The Chosen” will also reprise their roles in animated form.
“The Chosen In the Wild with Bear Grylls” will be a six-episode unscripted adventure series. In each episode, Grylls ventures into the wild with one cast member while exploring their personal stories and diving deeper into their own perspectives on the series and the characters they portray.
Also on the way is a three-season series following Moses’ story, a limited series about the life of Joseph, and the next chapter following “The Chosen” with the “Acts of the Apostles”. Jenkins’ 5&2 Studios will produce all the projects.
A fifth season of “The Chosen” is also coming in 2025. The historical drama is based on the life of Jesus (Jonathan Roumie), and is “seen through the eyes of those who knew him”.
