You can’t deny it, the Russo Brothers, Anthony and Joe, have one or two hits. They did those Marvel movies, Information Wars and Endgram or something. I don’t think I’ve seen them, but I heard people liked them.
Since doing, Infinity Wars and Endgame (I did know them), the Russo’s have had a mixed bag coming out. The Gray Man was on Netflix and not bad. I didn’t bother with Cherry, it didn’t look like my cuppa.
The Russo’s have been working on The Electric State. Based on a graphic novel, of the same name, by writer Simon Stalenhag. It stars Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Devyn Dalton, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Terry Notary, Gaberielle Maiden and Martin Klebba.
The blurb about the story is:
In late 1997, a runaway teenager and her yellow toy robot travel west through a strange USA, where the ruins of gigantic battle drones litter the countryside heaped together with the discarded trash of a high tech consumerist society in decline. As their car approaches the edge of the continent, the world outside the window seems to be unraveling ever faster as if somewhere beyond the horizon, the hollow core of civilization has finally caved in.
It sounds OK. There isn’t much news about the movie, but there are some still online.
The Electric State originally began filming back in 2022. Some reshoots took place this year, but it’s only now getting a release with Netflix.
