Netflix has released the first featurette for the making of the second season of its live-action adaptation of the anime smash “One Piece”. Production will continue in South Africa through to year’s end.

The clip, released as part of this week’s Geeked Week event, sees former “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” star Jeff Ward, who plays Buggy the Clown in “One Piece,” touring the set.

Fans can see several sets along with the large costume department, the hair & makeup area, and the prop workshop making swords and telephone snails for the upcoming season.

Showrunner Matt Owens pops up along the tour with costume designer Kerry Barnard, revealing the department is housing costumes for over 1,000 main and supporting characters along with extras.

The sets include a weapons store and the inside of Drum Island’s Twin Cape lighthouse – the home of Doctor Crocus.

Returnees include Inaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji along with Ward as Buggy, Michael Dorman as Gold Roger, and Illia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida.

New cast members include Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk, Sendhil Ramamurthy as King Nefertari Cobra, Charithra Chandran as Princess Vivi/Miss Wednesday.

There’s also multiple Baroque Works agents, including David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, and Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5.
