By After a successful collaboration on “The Queen’s Gambit,” Anya Taylor-Joy is returning to Netflix for another limited series based on a famed book.
The “Furiosa” and “The Menu” star will play the lead role of murderer Grace Bernard in an eight-episode series take on Bella Mackie’s novel “How to Kill Your Family”.
In the book Grace is the illegitimate daughter of a millionaire who abandoned her and her mother, ignoring her mother’s pleas for help as she was close to dying.
Grace vows revenge and decides to kill every member of her father’s family, leaving him for last. The show’s lead writer, Emma Moran. serves as an executive producer.
Taylor-Joy, Sally Woodward Gentle, Lizzie Rusbridger and Lee Morris also executive produce while Mackie serves as co-executive producer.
The news was unveiled at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Wednesday.
