20th Century Studios’ “Alien: Romulus” launch on Friday and so far has matched expectations domestically and far exceeded them globally.

The film reportedly earned $41.5 million domestically and $66.7 million overseas, for a worldwide opening weekend total of $108.2 million.

That makes it the second biggest debut for an “Alien” film behind only “Prometheus” with $51 millon. It’s filmmaker Fede Álvarez’s best debut to date as well.

The film is playing big on major screens with PLF and Imax accounting for 52% of ticket sales, whilst the audience was primarily guys – especially in the 25-34 range.

Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine” slipped to second with a $29 million take in its fourth weekend and a domestic total of $545 million so far.

The Blake Lively-led “It Ends with Us” was third, dropping 52% to $24 million in its second weekend. “Twisters” & the “Coraline” re-release round out the list.
