Harrison Ford is reportedly being eyed to join filmmaker J.J. Abrams’ next directorial effort according to DanielRPK.
Jenna Ortega and Glen Powell lead the cast of the new film which Abrams wrote the script for and which his Bad Robot production company is producing.
Plot details are under wraps and no production start date has yet been revealed as yet, though a rumored synopsis says it involves a “young married couple struggling to survive against a supernatural entity”.
Another report suggests it also has a “Last Starfighter” vibe. The project marks a return to directing features for Abrams who last helmed “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”.
Ford worked with Abrams in a cameo on that film and in a major role in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
Abrams most recently produced Apple’s “Presumed Innocent” and Amazon’s “Batman: Caped Crusader” series. Ford has a second season of “Shrinking” soon, the Marvel film “Captain America: Brave New World” early next year and is curently filming the second season of “1923”.
