Amazon Prime Video has cancelled its historical fantasy drama series “My Lady Jane” after just one eight-episode season at the streamer that launched on the service in full on June 27th.
Emily Bader, Edward Bluemel, Jordan Peters, Anna Chancellor, Dominic Cooper, Kate O’Flynn, Rob Brydon, Abbie Hern, Isabella Brownson, Robyn Betteridge, Henry Ashton, Máiréad Tyers, Michael Workeye, Joe Klocek, Brandon Grace, and Will Keen starred.
The alt-universe fantasy series followed the story of Lady Jane Grey, the young Tudor noblewoman who was Queen of England for nine days and then beheaded in 1553.
This retells history with Jane saving herself in a “tale of true love and high adventure” blending “action, history, fantasy, comedy, romance, and rompy-pompy.”
The world is one inhabited by Ethians, humans who can take animal form, as well as ordinary humans known as Verity. In England, the Verity ruling class have driven Ethians out of society and the Ethians have formed a group called the Pack.
Reviews for the show were fairly good with a 92% (7.1/10) on Rotten Tomatoes and a 70/100 on Metacritic.
