Disney has premiered an ‘in production’ teaser for the second season of its “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series on the Disney+ service.
That season will see Percy (Walker Scobell) and his fellow demigods on an oceangoing quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece. Filming on the new season is getting underway this month.
Recently 6’4 Canadian actor Daniel Diemer (“The Midnight Club,” “The Man in the High Castle”) was cast as Tyson, Percy’s cyclops half-brother and a key character in the second of Riordan’s Percy Jackson novels “Sea of Monsters”.
That book is serving as the basis of the show’s second season. Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Virginia Kull, Adam Copeland all return alongside co-showrunners Dan Shotz and Jonathan E. Steinberg.
The first season launched in late December to good reviews and a reported 13.3 million worldwide ‘views’ over six days for the show’s first episode. That figure doubled after three weeks.
