The main John Wick movies may have come to an end… perhaps, but the world is living on via TV shows and spin-off movies. Ballerina was delayed but is set to drop next year. Now another TV show is being made: John Wick: Under The High Table.

The Continental did not land well, despite Mel Gibson. I gave up after about three episodes and the reviews were not kind. Famously, that show included none of the talent from the movie universe. Mistakes were made.

They won’t be making the same mistakes again. Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski are executive producers. Robert Levine (The Old Man, Black Sails) is the writer and showrunner, with Stahelski directing the pilot episode.

Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee are also executive producers.

The story is set after the events of John Wick 4, and the aftermath of that movie has left the High Table in a tenuous position. Several nefarious individuals will begin manoeuvers, looking to make a name for themselves and shape things to their advantage. Meanwhile, the old order likes things just the way they are.

According to reports, John Wick: Under The High Table will “combine new and old and thrust the Wick universe into a new age.”

Lionsgate Television is again behind the project, and potential buyers are in talks.
