Following the launch of “Batman: Caped Crusader” on Prime Video this past week, the question has been raised as to when we’ll see a second season.
The well-reviewed series was renewed for a second run back in March last year when Amazon picked it up, with at least ten more episodes on the way.
However series creator and showrunner Bruce Timm says despite that renewal coming over a year ago, it’s going to be a while before the next ten episodes hit screens.
Speaking with The Wrap, Timm was asked about the status of the second season: “We’re still working on the scripts and starting to record. We’ve got a long way to go.”
Timm and executive producer James Tucker add that they are hopeful the streamer will order future seasons. Timm says: “I’m assuming if the numbers are good, they’ll probably want more. Tucker adds: “We’re only doing 10 episodes a pop, so it’s not like we’re bored yet.”
Matt Reeves, J.J. Abrams, and Ed Brubaker also executive produce the series which stars the likes of Hamish Linklater, Christina Ricci, Toby Stephens, Jamie Chung, Minnie Driver, and Reid Scott.
