Is a new season of Seth MacFarlane’s sci-fi series “The Orville” on the way?
Scott Grimes, who plays the ship’s helmsman Lt. Gordon Malloy, turned up at Creation’s STLV convention this weekend in Las Vegas to perform with his band.
During a set, the actor reportedly revealed to the crowd that a fourth season seems to be finally happening and is targeting a January/February production start.
In the wake of this, #TheOrville has started trending across social media as long-running fan campaigns have celebrated the comments which come exactly two years after the show’s third season wrapped on Hulu on August 4th 2022.
Grimes has a many-year working relationship with MacFarlane on multiple shows, including Peacock’s “Ted”, which has been renewed for a second season.
However, his comments are so far the only indication we’ve had of any such reneweal – no official confirmation about the supposed start date has come from Disney, Hulu, MacFarlane or his other co-stars presently.
With D23 coming next weekend though, an official confirmation one way or another should come fairly quickly.
