Harrison Ford is set to not only take on the role of Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross in the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World,” but also the Red Hulk.
Footage of him turning into the creature was shown off at Comic-Con this year (and briefly in the trailer) which required motion-capture acting from the action film legend.
In other words, Harrison Ford was out there with dots on his face doing Hulk-style roaring and being all-in-all a bit silly in an effort to give the CG animators material to turn him into the creature.
Speaking to Variety, Ford joked about the process required to turn him into the Red Hulk before getting a bit more serious:
“What did it take? It took not caring. It took being an idiot for money, which I’ve done before. I don’t mean to disparage it. I’m just saying you have to do certain things that normally your mother would not want you to do – or your acting coach, if you had one. But it’s fun, and I enjoyed it. I had a great time, and I’m delighted at the response that we got with the trailer.”
The comments follow on from others he made in San Diego praising director Julius Onah and star Anthony Mackie. “Captain America: Brave New World” hits cinemas next year on February 12th.
