Minor Threats
Comedian Patton Oswalt and screenwriter Jordan Blum’s hit comic “Minor Threats” is becoming a live-action Netflix series. The pair will serve as writers, showrunners and executive producers on the project which is currently in early development.
The story is set in a city in which the young sidekick of the crime-fighting hero The Insomniac is slain by the villain Stickman. As Insomniac’s teammates and cops turn it into a police state to capture Stickman, a group of small-time D-list crooks assemble to take down Stickman themselves. [Source: THR]
Bridgerton
Luke Thompson’s Benedict will lead the cast of “Bridgerton” in the fourth installment of the highly popular Netflix series. The new run will be based on Julia Quinn’s 2001 novel “An Offer From a Gentlemen”.
That novel also introduces the fan-favorite character of Sophie Beckett. In the book, Benedict is loath to settle down until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball. [Source: Twitter]
Law & Order
Hot offer her role in “Twisters,” actress Maura Tierney is returning to NBC and will join the cast of “Law & Order” as a new series regular for its twenty-fourth season which premieres October 3rd.
Tierney’s new character follows the departure of series regular Camryn Manheim as Lieutenant Kate Dixon at the end of last season. Specifics of the new lieutenant character are under wraps. [Source: TV Line]
What We Do in the Shadows
FX has announced an October 21st premiere date for the sixth and final season of its acclaimed comedy series “What We Do in the Shadows”. The first three episodes will be available with the remaining eight released weekly.
The new season will see the housemates enter the workforce, visit New Hampshire, go to a human dinner party, fête The Baron and conjure a demon – all while trying to find their place and their purpose in this crazy, mixed-up world. [Source: FX]
