Filmmaker Wes Anderson had to skip this year’s Oscars to work on his next film “The Phoenician Scheme” in Germany.
The project has reportedly now finished filming and as previously announced, it will star Benicio del Toro and Mia Threapleton as a father and daughter whose family business leads them into a dark espionage tale.
Previously confirmed names for the film include Michael Cera, Riz Ahmed and Bill Murray. Now though, it seems the rest of the cast has been revealed via an unconfirmed listing.
Crew United (via The Film Stage) reports that six former collaborators with Anderson are also onboard: Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Willem Dafoe, Rupert Friend, Bryan Cranston, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
In addition, one name familiar to many is joining an Anderson project for the first time – Charlotte Gainsbourg. Other Anderson first-timers include Imke Büchel, Imad Mardnli, Jaime Ferkic, Antonia Desplat, Tonio Arango, Aysha Samuel, and Sabine Hollweck.
Further specifics about the film are under wraps but Bruno Delbonnel serves as cinematographer and Adam Stockhausen will return as production designer.
