By A second trailer has been released for the film adaptation of the famed children’s book “Harold and the Purple Crayon” from Sony Pictures.
The story chronicles a man named Harold (Zachary Levi) who can create worlds with the help of his imagination and a purple crayon.
Zooey Deschanel, Lil Rel Howery, Ravi Patel, Camille Guaty, Tanya Reynolds and Pete Gardner round out the film’s cast.
Carlos Saldanha (“Ice Age,” “Rio”) directs this screen take on the 1955 book from author Crockett Johnson. It marks Saldanha’s first live-action feature.
The film had been in development for years with multiple different versions in the works before this one began life back in 2010.
Sony Pictures will release the film theatrically on August 2nd.
