A couple of release date announcements today.
First up, Blumhouse and Universal’s upcoming horror film “M3GAN 2.0” has been delayed again with a new date of June 27th 2025 set – pushed back from May 16th 2025.
It marks the second delay for the film which was originally slated for a January 2025 release. Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are both reprising their roles.
The studios have also set an official release date for “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” with that game-to-film sequel set to hit cinemas on December 5th 2025.
That’s just over two years since the first film opened in October 2023 and made $291 million worldwide. No director or cast is yet confirmed for the sequel which will shoot this summer.
Next, Apple Original Films has reportedly set a June 27th 2025 theatrical release date for the currently untitled Brad Pitt-led Formula One movie from “Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski.
The project will also reportedly get a two-week IMAX release and will later be followed by a streaming release on Apple TV+.
It takes a date that was occupied by Scott Derrickson’s “The Black Phone” sequel but that movie has also been delayed today and will now open October 17th 2025.
Finally, Bulldog Film Distribution has revealed Chris Cronin’s British horror film “The Moor” will get a UK cinema run on June 14th this year followed by a digital release on July 1st. No U.S. date has been set.
