Keanu Reeves is now confirmed to be joining Kirsten Dunst and Daniel Brühl in “The Square” and “Triangle of Sadness” filmmaker Ruben Östlund’s next social satire feature “The Entertainment System Is Down”.
Östlund has reportedly bought a retired Boeing 747 for the project, with the plane to be used at full scale for the shoot in a studio.
The story unfolds on a long-haul flight where the entertainment system has failed, forcing the passengers to face the dreaded horror of being bored.
The film is inspired by a social psychological study at Virginia University which revealed participants did not enjoy spending as little as 6-15 minutes in a room by themselves with nothing to do but think – especially men.
The Swedish, two-time Palme d’Or winner will reportedly hire plenty of well-known cast to join the English-language and Swedish-German-French co-production which is scheduled to shoot in early 2025.
