Amazon Prime Video has released first look photos and announced a August 1st premiere date for the animated series “Batman: Caped Crusader”.
The project is being dubbed a reimagining of the Batman mythology and spiritual successor to the original 1990s “Batman: The Animated Series”.
The show is being spearheaded by filmmakers J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves along with “Batman: The Animated Series” veteran Bruce Timm who will all executive produce.
Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear.
Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human — the BATMAN. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.
The photos offer first looks at new interpretations of several chrracters including Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Commissioner Jim Gordon and Clayface.
