Filmmaker James Gunn has finally shared the first photo of actor David Corenswet as Kal-El/Superman in his upcoming “Superman” movie.
The photo confirms he is indeed going to be wearing his red underwear on the outside in the shot which sees the character seemingly adjusting his suit whilst sitting down whilst some potential major event is going on outside.
The suit is also partly dirty, which suggests the character has been through the wringer a bit. Filming on the project has been underway since March and is expected to run through to August.
The cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Sara Sampai (Eve Teschmacher), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner), Maria Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer), along with Gunn and producer Peter Safran.
The new film will follow Superman as he looks to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
“Superman” will open in cinemas on July 11th 2025.
